Ocean Born (poem)
There was something born then
Born of blood and skeleton
Distinct features
Carved silhouette
A spark, a pulse and power inside
Surely the ocean graced me
A force, a reckless pause, and a wailing tongue
The symmetry of face
nostrils, eyes, ears assembled
A turning into and a rolling out of the veil of darkness
There was something born then
Standing oddly obscured by any real vision
Eclipsed in a mask of cloud, a cave,
waves striking the sands of her like lightning
She moves slightly as my eyes adjust
Sweeping me into her nest of arms
The song of her
silent hum and soothing
“there there child”
I weep I collapse
Forward and back she rocks as I sleep in the folds of her black beyond
